Augusta Regional Airport Highlights Local Artists for 2021!
Augusta Regional Airport (AGS) is excited to provide the traveling public with amazing works of art from local artists throughout the year.
The AGS Art Committee issued an artist “all call” in 2020 for local artists to submit their work for display in the main terminal building and the general aviation terminal. A select few were chosen, from numerous submissions, to have their work on display. The airport is the perfect venue to have the artwork viewed by hundreds of travelers, as well as, showcase the amazing talent of the local art community.
Three artists were selected to have their work in the main terminal for the first quarter of the year. These artists were; Robert Atkins – pastels, Najja Lawson – acrylic and oil paints, and La’Juantia Logan – mixed media. Each artist brings a variety of art mediums and artistic style to the terminal.
Three additional artists were selected to have their work displayed for one year in the general aviation terminal. These artists were; Bobby Gordon – metal works created by metal shavings, Irina Wnorowski – creative resin and acrylic pieces, and Kay Lovingood – artistic gourd art.
